Moving stuff into self storage can be hungry work!  Lucky for us, there are some fantastic places to eat satisfying food we have discovered.  They are close to us in Lincoln Road and we just had to share!

Little Sister Café

 Our favourite little funky café, Little Sister just around the corner at  91 Central Park Drive.  The food is beyond good, seriously tasty salads, pies and toasties in their ever changing cabinet food, donuts and sweet treats to die for and a delectable menu for those with a bit more time.  The staff are friendly and always have a smile – a must for a local café.

Dixie BarbeCue

Not a restaurant, instead Dixie Barbecue is an awesome food truck selling slow cooked American ribs, slaw and eveything that is good about smoky Southern food.  Parked up on Fridays at Blanc on Lincoln Road, it’s a cool place to hang out, eat and have a glass of wine while soaking up the West Auckland atmosphere.

Punjabi Kitchen

Punjabi Kitchen at 4/255 Lincoln Rd, Henderson does great Indian food at prices you can’t go past, go on the right nights and lunchtimes and all mains are $10.   The vegetable korma and the lamb saagwaala are well worth a go and the Naan bread is as good as we have ever had in India.

Chikos

Less than a minutes walk away at 7/255 Lincoln Road, one meal and we were hooked!  Chikos has food and presentation that is going to put Henderson on the foodie map.  Super sleek décor, wonderful service and award winning chefs have produced a menu that beckons you back over and over again.  You can’t go past the half chicken, the pork hocks and the nasi goreng, all beautifully garnished with radishes and edible flowers, they taste as good as they look.
