We hope everyone is well.

The New Zealand Government has issued a minor update regarding Self Storage facilities on the website. 

Spacemax remains in lockdown with access for essential services and businesses only.

 However, if for any reason you require an essential item from your storage unit, please email us at with what it is and a contact phone number. Chanelle, the store manager, will get back to you and we will facilitate as best we can.

 The more everyone can isolate, the better chance we have of returning to normal in three weeks. 

 Please take care of yourselves, your family and your community. 


Due to level 4 lockdown of all non-essential businesses due to Covid-19 our store is closed to all but essential services.

If you are a Government listed essential service or require MPI clearance for an essential service please ring (09) 836 7019 to get access over this period.

As New Zealand moves to Level 4 in its COVID-19 response, we know this will be a very stressful time and your primary focus will be to ensure the safety of your family and communities.


We need to advise that at this point we are recommending that if you need essential items from your Storage Unit, it is best to do so before 10 pm Wednesday the 24th of March, 2020 as we do not know when you will be able to access after this date.


However, we would like to reassure you that Spacemax Self will continue to operate with the same level of client service we have always provided and will provide you with regular updates. 


Any changes will be emailed to you and posted on our website and Facebook pages.


We are confident that we’ve taken the necessary steps to support our customers through this period best. All of our team will be working from home. The Spacemax Self Storage business continuity plan is currently in action, and we are equipped with all the tools we need to support our customers. Our operations have contingency processes that ensure our ability to take your phone calls, answer emails and communicate regularly with you is not compromised in any way over the coming weeks.

We ask that any customers coming on-site today and Wednesday only come in if necessary and practice safe, hygienic practices.  This includes:


  • Using hand sanitizer before touching surfaces

  • Do not enter if showing any symptoms of Covid19

  • Wipe down keypads; door handles, trolley handles before and after use.

  • Maintain a distance between people of at least 2M.


Our team will also regularly be through the store sanitizing all surfaces.  We ask that you don’t enter the office unnecessarily, payments can be made online, over the phone or internet via credit card (thought the website), or through direct debit, if you have that enabled.
